League of Conservation Voters
2025 Capital Dinner
Background: The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is a nation-wide environmental organization that builds political power for the people and the planet. With focus areas in environmental policy, building grassroots power, democracy and voting rights, and winning elections, LCV’s multi-faceted approach includes a unique network of 30+ state affiliates dubbed the Conservation Voters Movement (CVM). In a time of political uneasiness, LCV’s annual fundraising gala in Washington, D.C. is an important touchstone for donors and partners of the organization to reconnect with LCV’s mission and strength. In 2025, LCV’s president of 19 years (and lifelong basketball fan) retired, leaving his team in the capable hands of the next generation. The creative team was also challenged with finding engaging ways to send off the long-time president at his final Dinner and ring in the new era of the organization.
Work: Lee conceptualized the creative direction for the event, working with a team of motion designers, video editors, copywriters, set decorators, and production staff to execute the vision.
Creative Direction: Interconnectedness.
Circles and points connect via lines, which weave together to create new shapes and pathways. The nodes represent the distinct points of the CVM network (LCV and the 30+ state affiliates), the different issue areas (clean energy, democracy, healthy communities, public lands, elections), and even the people in the room at the Capital Dinner, all coming together for a common goal. Any two+ points can be connected in brand new, different ways allowing for fluidity and flexibility. Likewise, LCV’s network and connections can come together to form new coalitions to meet each moment.
Our connections dictate our future. The CVM is LCV’s pathway forward. Together, the network is strong, flexible, creative, innovative.
